Six diverse trims make up the Hyundai Kona lineup. These include the SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Night, Limited, and Ultimate trims. They carry many similar features, but also upgrades that may interest you, so look carefully and see what appeals to you.
Half the trims, including SE, SEL, and SEL Plus, use the 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, while the Night, Limited, and Ultimate trims get their power from the 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. If you choose one of the first half, it shifts gears through a 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC®. For the latter half, they give you a 7-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission.
At its best and with front-wheel drive (FWD), the Hyundai Kona will achieve an EPA-estimated 28 city/32 highway MPG.1 If you want the traction control of available all-wheel drive (AWD), it also comes with a Drive Mode Select system that provides both Normal and Sport modes.
Most trims include cloth seating, but a few do feature standard leather furnishings. In the front, your available power driver seat comes with eight adjustable settings and added power lumbar support, so you’re relaxed even after a compromising commute. To soothe an aching back, the front seats in almost every trim provide 3-step heating.
Other extra features include the power sunroof option and automatic temperature control.
Inside, your Kona supplies you with 94.1 cubic feet of passenger volume, and you’ll discover these cabin measurements:
Dimensions | Front Seat | Rear Seat |
Headroom | 39.6 inches | 37.8 inches |
Hip Room | 53.3 inches | 52.2 inches |
Legroom | 41.5 inches | 34.6 inches |
Shoulder Room | 55.5 inches | 54.5 inches |
With every seat in its place, the trunk offers 19.2 cubic feet of cargo room. If you need extra space or want to sneak in a piece of furniture, just fold the back seats, and now you have a maximum of 45.8 cubic feet of cargo room.
You’ll be able to use your smartphone the day you get your Kona to announce the news to all your friends with Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™. All your apps can be accessible from the available 8-inch color touchscreen that comes with navigation to help you get to your next destination. It also lets you operate your 8-speaker Infinity® Premium Audio system with Clari-Fi™ Music Restoration Technology.
